3.2.5 Load curve
Boost in ON position
With this setting the CPS2 OEM 24V/40A charger produces a 3-state load curve IUoU: Boost, Absorption, Floating.
Boost Phase: starts up automatically when the charger is turned on if the battery is flat. The current is then at maximum
output.
Absorption Phase: begins when the voltage has reached the maximum Boost level. The current level starts falling.
These two phases combined last a maximum of 4 hours. The current depends on how charged the battery is.
Floating Phase: starts after 4 hours. The voltage switches to the Floating value and the rated current continues to drop.
Boost in OFF position
With this setting, the CPS2 OEM 24V/40A charger produces a single-stage UI type load curve. It generates a constant
voltage, supplying the current required by the battery(ies). Recharging time depends on the state of the battery, being
longer than when the boost is in the ON position.
