Mounting the side discharge flap (side
discharge only)
WARNING!
Danger due to missing or damaged
side discharge flap.
The lawn tractor must only be operated
if the side discharge flap for the side dis-
charge has been mounted. If the side
discharge flap is not mounted, operation
is prohibited because there is a danger
of reaching into the blade area of the
mower mechanism. A damaged protec-
tion device must be replaced immediate-
ly by an original spare part.
1. Hold the side discharge flap at the ejection
opening of the mower (04/a).
2. Mount the spring on the side discharge flap
and mower mechanism (05/a).
3. Secure the spring and side discharge flap
with the locking pin (05/b).
4. Lock the locking pin (06/a).

the grass catcher makes contact with the
tractor housing without a gap when
mounting (16).
■
the markings on the grass catcher and
tractor housing line up with one another
(15).

IMPORTANT!
Danger of engine damage!
The engine is delivered without oil. The
engine will be destroyed if it is operated
without oil.
■
The engine must be filled with oil be-
fore initial start-up. Comply with the
instructions from the engine manu-
facturer in this regard.
Use a suitable funnel or a filler pipe when filling
the oil so that no oil is spilled on the engine, the
housing or the ground.
1. Unscrew the cap of the oil filler neck.
2. Fill with oil until the oil level can be seen be-
tween the MIN and MAX markings of the dip-
stick.
Note: Do not overfill the engine! For the filling
amount: see the instructions of the engine
manufacturer.
3. Screw the cap back on the oil filler neck.

Installing the starter battery
Side discharge: see image 08,
Rear discharge: see image 18 (220 l, 250 l),
image 19 (300 l).
The lawn tractor comes with a starter battery.
The starter battery mount is located under the en-
gine cover.
The starter battery is always supplied from the
factory pre-charged.
WARNING!
Danger if the starter battery is not
handled correctly!
The following points must be complied
with to avoid the dangers arising from in-
correct handling of the battery!
■
Do not store the starter battery in the immedi-
ate vicinity of naked flames, do not burn it or
place it on heaters. Risk of explosion.
■
Store the starter battery in a cool, dry room
(10 - 15 °C) over the winter. Avoid storing at
temperatures below the freezing point.
■
Do not leave the starter battery without
charge for a long period. If the starter battery
is not used for a long period, it should be
charged using a suitable charger.
■
Do not smash the starter battery. The electro-
lyte (sulphuric acid) causes chemical burns to
the skin and clothing – immediately rinse off
with copious amounts of water.
