USE AND SAFETY

2.1

Intended use

2.1.1 System releases

The Automatic Transfer Switch „Vitocharge VX3 Backup-Box 3PH TYP A" may only be operated in the confi guration with the Viessmann
power storage system „Vitocharge VX3, Type 6.0A/8.0A" (hereinafter referred to as power storage system). The automatic switching system,
the components used and the electrical wiring have been tested and certifi ed by the manufacturer Viessmann. The system documentation
can be found in Viessmann's download area:

2.1.2 Country approval

The Automatic Transfer Switch „Vitocharge VX3 Backup-Box 3PH TYP A" may in principle be installed in countries where an all-pole grid
disconnection and a switched connection of the neutral conductor to the protective conductor is permitted during island operation.*
The fi nal decision regarding the compliance of the Automatic Transfer Switch with the specifi cations of the grid operator of course lies
with the respective grid operator himself. In the case of German low-voltage grid operators, all-pole disconnection is generally required
(VDE Application Rule „Fixed electrical energy storage systems intended for connection to the low-voltage grid" - VDE-AR-E 2510-2;
6.410.2.2 Island operation with TN system)

2.1.3 General notes on block diagrams and connection diagrams

The block diagrams listed are compliant with the VDE FNN document „Connection and operation of storage units on the low-voltage grid"
(Viessmann manufacturer's declaration of FNN compliance at
meter concept must always be agreed with the utility grid operator. Compliance with the technical regulations and funding requirements
must be observed.
The block diagrams or the arrangement of the meters are designed in such a way that all electricity generators can feed into Vitocharge.
A diff erent arrangement of the meters is technically possible, but may mean that not all generators can feed into Vitocharge.
However, this can be advantageous due to the respective subsidy conditions. We recommend clarifying the boundary conditions during
the planning phase. The desired meter concept and the connection of the other components must always be agreed with the utility grid
operator.
* In countries with separate regulations regarding a switched neutral conductor in island operation, mainly non-all-pole network
disconnections can be realized, this is not supported by this Automatic Transfer Switch. If there are any uncertainties, please contact your
grid operator during the planning phase.
