- Now both eyepieces are adjusted to your eyes, and you only need the central
focusing wheel to adjust the focus.
- The eyecups shield your eyes against scattered light. If you want to wear glasses
while using the binoculars just collapse the eyecups around the eyepiece.
- If you wear glasses while using the binoculars, be sure to keep the proper distance
between the binoculars and your glasses. The glasses may be damaged or your field
of vision may be infringed. The best distance is in most cases between 0.5 and 1cm.
It may be necessary to collapse the eyecups to be able to reach the proper distance.
- If you are near- or farsighted you should still use the binoculars without glasses and
reach optimal focus by focusing the binoculars accordingly. The adjustable right
eyepiece can be used to compensate differences between the eyes. Only if this is not
sufficient you should wear your glasses while using the binoculars.
Observation and Focusing
- Adjust the eye base as described above.
- Point the Binoculars at the object you want to observe and adjust the focus with the
central focussing wheel (4).
Crosshairs
With the crosshairs you can estimate distances. The distance between two graduation
marks is just over 10m at a distance of 1000m, which means an object which is 10m
wide just fits in between two graduation marks if it is 1000m away. At a distance of
500m an object which is 5m wide will fir between two marks, at 100m an object if 1m
and so forth. This allows you to estimate the distance of objects if known size.
Cleaning
Use the cloth included in the package of another soft cloth or microfibre cloth designed
for use with optical equipment. Alternatively use a soft brush.
In case of stubborn dirt use pure alcohol or lens cleaner designed for use with
photographic equipment.
Do not disassemble the unit!
Store your binoculars in a dry and clean place in the pouch.
