Before first Use
Remove the device from the packaging and remove protective film
covers. Dispose of the packaging materials carefully; the plastic
bags may become a deadly toy for children.
Crank and Solar Power
Unfold the crank and crank it to charge the build-in battery. Do not
crank faster than four revolutions per second. Five minutes of crank-
ing are sufficient for approximately twenty minutes of radio opera-
tion.
To operate the unit and to charge the build in batteries from the
solar cell place the unit in direct sunlight. Make sure the solar cell is
not in the shade and not partly covered. While the battery is charged
the charging indicator light (2) is on.
Operation via USB
To operate the unit and to charge the build in batteries via USB
connect the unit to a suitable USB socket. While the battery is
charged the charging indicator light (2) is on. Charging time for a
fully discharged Battery is approximately eight hours.
Listening to the Radio
1. Turn the volume control knob (9) clockwise to turn on the radio
and to set the volume.
2. Set the switch (3) to FM to select the FM frequency band or to
AM to select the AM (MW) frequency band.
3. Select the desired station by turning the frequency dial (8). Read
the frequency at the frequency range scales.
4. Use the volume control knob (9) to adjust the volume to the
desired level. Use it to turn the radio off by turning counter
clockwise unit it clicks audibly.
