Dear Customer,
these safety instructions are not only to protect the product but also for your

very carefully before using the product for the first time!
• The unauthorised conversion and/or modification of the product is inad-
missible because of safety and approval reasons (CE). Do not open/
disassemble! It does not contain any internal parts that need to be adjust-
ed or maintained by you.
• The design of the mains transformer complies with protection class II. Only
connect the wall plug transformer to a standard mains socket connected
to the public supply. For the permitted operating voltage for the mains
adapter, please refer to the chapter „Technical Data" at the end of this
operating manual.
• Never plug in, or remove, the wall plug transformer when your hands are
wet!
• The product must not get damp or wet, it is only intended for use in dry,
indoor locations.
Further, protect the product from direct solar radiation, strong heat
(>35°C), cold (<0°C), dust and dirt, splashes and dripping water, vibra-
tions or mechanical loads.
• When the product is taken from a cold to a warm room (e.g. during trans-
port), condensation may be produced. This could damage the product.
This might cause a lethal electric shock!
Therefore, you should allow the product to warm up to room temperature
before using it or connecting the wall plug transformer to an electric sock-

• Do not operate the product if it is damaged.
Do not touch the wall plug transformer, if it is damaged. First, switch off at

Installation and Setup
If required, the metal casing can be fixed to a suitable surface using the two holes on
the left and right side.
Pay attention when tightening the screws that no power, gas or water pipes are dam-
aged.
If you do not wish to fasten the device in place, the surface of the installation location
should be protected from scratch marks by a suitable underlay. Alternatively, you may
attach rubber feet to the casing's underside, these are available from accessory retailers.
Connection
Connect the round low voltage plug from the wall plug transformer, included in delivery,
to the corresponding socket on the back of the metal case.
Then plug the wall plug transformer into a standard wall socket. The power LED
(„PWR") lights up.
Now connect the computer to the card reader/USB hub, using the USB cable
enclosed. The computer does not need to be switched off.
The drivers for the USB hub and the card reader are integrated in the operating sys-
tem; therefore, there is no driver-data carrier.
When first connected to the computer, Windows recognises the card reader as well
as the USB hub and completes the driver installation.
Additional drive letters, for the memory card slots on the card reader, are assigned
automatically by Windows.
Reading/Writing to Memory Cards
A memory card inserted in the card reader will be integrated in the same way as a con-
ventional removable media drive. When a memory card is recognised, the access LED
shines with a steady light.
With Windows file manager you can now read the data on the memory card (or store
data on the memory card), in the same way as you use the hard disk or a USB stick.
The access LED on the card reader flashes during write/read access.
In such an event, isolate the mains socket, to which the product is con-
nected (e.g. switch off the automatic fuse), and unplug the wall plug trans-
former from the mains socket. Disconnect all cables from the device.
Afterwards, the product can no longer be used; take it to a specialist work-
shop.
• Do not place naked flames such as burning candles on the device or in its
vicinity.
• Do not bend the cables and do not place objects on them.
• Ensure there is sufficient ventilation of the wall plug transformer and the
device during operation. Do not cover the wall plug transformer and the
device with newspapers, sheets, curtains or similar. Keep a minimum dis-
tance of about 5 cm from other objects.
• This product is not a toy, it is not suitable for children. Children cannot
judge the dangers involved when handling electrical devices.
• Do not leave packing materials unattended. They may become dangerous
playthings for children.
• In commercial institutions, the accident prevention regulations of the
Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Electrical Systems and
Operating Materials are to be observed.
• In schools, educational centres, hobby and self-help workshops the oper-
ation of the product is to be supervised by trained employees.
• Handle the product with care, it can be damaged by impacts, blows, or
accidental drops, even from a low height.
• If you have doubts about how the equipment should be operated or how to
safely connect it, consult a trained technician.
• If you have any questions that are not answered in this instruction manu-
al, please contact our technical support centre or consult a professional.
Only use the card reader/USB hub with the enclosed wall plug transformer.
