Before first Use

Remove all parts from the packaging. Keep packaging material out of reach of
children. There is risk of suffocation!
Clean all parts of the appliance before using the first time as described below
in chapter Cleaning.
The smell of "hot metal" might be noticed when using the food slicer for the
first few times. It is caused by the biological lubricant and will disappear.

Setting up the Appliance

1. Insert the transparent food guide (3) on the corresponding retainer of the
feeding carriage (7).
2. Make sure the appliance sits steadily on a solid level surface.
3. Only use the food slicer with the feeding carriage and the food guide unless it
is not possible due to the size and shape of the food.
4. Connect the appliance to a wall socket. The food slicer is ready for use now.

Operating

1. Turn the thickness adjusting knob (8) clockwise resp. counter clockwise to
adjust the plate (4) and to select the appropriate slicing thickness.
2. Move the feeding carriage to the very left and place the food to be sliced in
front of the food guide (3) on the feeding carriage.
3. Slide the safety switch (2) to the right and hold it in that position. Then press
the ON/OFF button (1). The blade (5) starts rotating.
4. Use the food guide (3) to gently push the food against the adjusting plate (4).
5. Slowly move the feeding carriage with the food to the right into the rotating
blade. The blade slices the food. Always keep your hands away from the
rotating blade.
6. If the blade slows down while slicing, move back the food a little bit and slowly
push it forward again. Do not overload the food slicer.
7. After approx. 10 minutes of continuous operation, allow the appliance to cool
down for 10 minutes. To avoid food sticking on the blade, moisten the blade
with little cooking oil if necessary.
8. Press the ON/OFF button (1) again to switch off the device.
