Before first Use

Remove all packing materials from the Waffle Maker. Clean all parts of the
appliance before using the first time as described below under "Cleaning"
on page 10.

Operation

Make sure that the waffle maker sits steadily on a solid, level surface.
Smoke observed for a short time during the first heating procedure of the
Waffle Maker is perfectly normal. Brush some butter, margarine, fat or
vegetable oil onto the waffle-grids. Discard the first two waffles made. Do
not eat them.
1. Preheat the waffle maker before using it. We recommend to switch on
the appliance while you are preparing the waffle mixture. General tips
and recipes for making tasty waffles are presented below, starting from
page 9 of this manual. The heating temperature is reached after 2
minutes.
2. Plug the power plug into a properly grounded power socket.
3. The red indicator lamp turns on.
4. Start cooking waffles only after the red indicator lamp turns off.
5. Brush some butter, margarine, fat or vegetable oil onto the waffle-
grids.
6. Pour the waffle mixture evenly over the bottom part of the waffle
maker. Take care that no mixture flows into the outer edges.
7. Close the waffle maker. Do not hold the housing of the waffle maker
during the baking process. Also be aware of steam rising from the
cooking mixture, which can cause burns.
8. At the beginning of the baking process, the upper part of the appliance
will be slightly raised. Do not open the appliance during the first minute
of operation. Golden brown waffles take about 4 minutes.
9. Take the finished waffles out with a wooden fork or similar tool. Take
care you do not damage the non-stick surface.
10. After baking is finished, disconnect the plug from the power supply and
open the waffle maker, allowing it to cool before storing.
