CONTROLS
EP ADAPTOR
When playing an EP record (doughnut type) with
a large center hole, place the EP ADAPTOR pro-
vided on the record spindle.
AUTOMATIC MECHANISM
e The first time you play a record after installing
the turntable, the automatic mechanism will
not operate properly.
Therefore, before playing the record, set the
turntable to the record play mode, and perform
the auto-cut operation once (by pushing the
CUT button).
e This model incorporates an automatic
mechanism and so bear in mind the following
points.
Do not touch the tonearm when it is about to
return automatically to the arm rest.
When the platter is rotating and when it has
stopped, do not attempt to rotate it in the op-
posite (counterclockwise) direction.
NOTE:
The tonearm may not automatically return to
the arm rest if a record has been played which
does not conform to IEC standards. In cases
like this, push the CUT button.

cover from the cabinet together with the hinges.
To replace, follow the same procedure in reverse.

SPEED ADJUST knob (HT-40S only)
Pitch control should be done while watching the
stroboscope installed at the periphery of the plat-
ter. Turn the SPEED ADJUST knob slowly until
the stripes on the stroboscope appear still. Turn
the knob in the ''F'' direction when the stripes
flow rightward, and in the ''S" direction when
they flow leftward.
e Induction Hum
Your turntable utilizes a brushless DC servo
motor to reduce inductive hum. If annoying in-
ductive hum is heard, it can be caused by the
electromagnetic field produced from the
