Safety Notes and Operating
Dispose of used packaging material carefully or store it out of the reach of
children. There is a danger of suffocation!
In case of insecurity or lack of knowledge, please have the automatic radiator
air vent installed by a certified professional (plumber or fitter).
Make sure that the radiator air vent is installed correctly to prevent damages to
the radiator, the heating system or the floor due to water leaking out.
Preparation
▪ Before you remove the old radiator valve, eliminate the pressure, if possible.
▪ Let the radiator cool down, otherwise there is a risk of scalding.
▪ Check whether the radiator has a return valve (stop valve in the lower pipe).
If yes, close both valves (flow and stop valve). The stop valve can be located
under a cover plate. If present, first unscrew the cover plate and close the
stop valve by using a suitable tool.
Installation
1. Now slowly open the old radiator valve. Place a suitable bowl under the valve
or have several cloths ready to collect the escaping water.
2. Unscrew the old valve. This will allow a small amount of water to escape
again.
3. Now fit the automatic radiator air vent with a 19 mm open-end wrench. Then
open the flow and stop valves again.
4. Turn the knurled screw counter-clockwise by approx. 1 – 2 turns to vent the
radiator.
5. When water comes out, tighten the knurled screw again. The automatic
