Warning! The filters are not supplied as standard with anti-flooding devices or devices for monitoring,
detecting and signalling uncontrolled water leakage. If necessary, provide a suitable anti-flooding device
separately.
Install only in rooms with a floor drain to prevent damage caused by accidental water spillage. In older buildings,
check whether the metal water pipe is used for grounding the electrical system (a bridged connection on the
water meter is a clear indication of this). Check for other grounding devices before opening the pipe. Acqua
Brevetti SRL disclaims any liability for damage to property or persons resulting from incorrect installation of the
equipment and/or installation in a system not in compliance with the current laws or where the requirements of
this manual have not been met.
B1.2 Installation Requirements
Installation must be carried out to professional standards, in compliance with all current laws and the data on
the appliance nameplate, and in accordance with EN 806-2 and applicable local standards. All materials used
for the installation and maintenance of the hydraulic distribution systems must be suitable for contact with water
intended for human consumption. The installation of the filter introduces a change to the drinking water system,
therefore, it must be carried out only by a licensed professional and in accordance with the applicable local
standards. The installation diagrams are aimed at providing the necessary indications for the proper operation
of the equipment. The creation of a system to professional standards is beyond the scope of this document.
Install Bravo, BravoDUE or BravoCALOR:
only in systems that deliver water for human consumption.
•
(Bravo, BravoDUE) on cold water pipes downstream of the meter and upstream of the equipment to be
•
protected; BravoCALOR can be installed on hot water lines.
in a hygienically suitable, dry, well-ventilated, clean indoor location, sheltered from: frost, moisture and
•
weather (rain, snow, hail), direct exposure to sunlight and heat sources (e.g., washing machines, boilers,
hot water pipes);
•
ensuring that the water system is hygienically safe and free of bacterial growth hazards, (e.g., dead
branches, sources of bacterial growth, etc.).
providing sampling points upstream and downstream of the filter;
•
•
ensuring the presence of a valve to prevent the return of treated water to the water main;
creating a plumbing system to bypass the filter;
•
•
in compliance with the temperature and pressure limits given in the technical data table;
ensuring that the device is positioned so as to facilitate maintenance operations.
•
Do not install Bravo, BravoDUE or BravoCALOR:
downstream of boilers or in applications requiring a flow of water at a temperature higher than the limits
•
specified in the technical data table.
outside of the temperature and pressure limits given in the technical data table;
•
in closed-loop, circulation-pipe or non-potable water systems (except for BravoCALOR);
•
outdoors, in manholes, near drains or in unhygienic locations;
•
in the presence of chemicals, vapours, gases or fumes of any kind;
•
in cramped spaces that do not allow for maintenance operations;
•
in rooms without a floor drain.
•
B1.3 General instructions for installation
The creation and modification of a water distribution system intended for human consumption must not affect
the hygiene of the system. Before installing the filter, clean the pipes and equipment installed upstream of the
filter thoroughly to remove any foreign matter that could cause the filter to malfunction. After installation or
modification, the drinking water distribution system must be flushed in accordance with the requirements of
standard EN 806-4 and local regulations.
Warning! Improper use, inappropriate hygienic conditions and incorrect installation and maintenance
work can result in the contamination of drinking water, damage to equipment, leaks and water damage.
B1.4 Permitted installation schemes
Warning! It is essential to install the filter in the direction of the water flow, as indicated by the arrow
stamped on the brass head of the filter.
