Preparation for operation
POSITIONING OF THE UNIT
The ambient temperature must not exceed 40°C and ambient humidity should not
exceed 85%. Place the unit in a way that ensures good air circulation. Maintain a
minimum clearance of 30 cm from any wall of the unit. Keep the unit away from any
hot surfaces. Always operate the unit on a level, stable, clean, fireproof and dry
surface and out of the reach of children and persons with impaired mental, sensory
and intellectual functions. Place the unit in such a way that the main plug can be
reached at any time. Ensure that the power supply to the unit corresponds to that
specified on the identification plate!

Working with the machine
•
IMPORTANT: Before starting grinding, first start the machine by turning
the O/I switch to the on position (the LED on the switch will light up). The
blade of the grinding knife should be free from contamination, degreased
and dry.
Choose the appropriate groove depending on the degree of blade wear:
•
1) Coarse grinding - suitable for grinding dull knives or those that require
a sharp edge. Insert the knife into the left and right slots, respectively,
and pull it from the handle to the tip along the edge of the blade
maintaining a constant drag rate (approx. 4-8 seconds for metal
knives and 6-10 seconds for ceramic knives) without exerting too
much pressure on the grinded blade.
2) [only RCDKS-03A] Fine grinding - adapted to the daily maintenance of
knives, it allows removing burrs and traces of rough grinding of the
edges, making it smoother and sharper. Same grinding method as for
rough grinding. For regularly used kitchen knives, it is recommended
to perform this type of grinding once a week to maintain their
precision.
