• Fix the respective nut in the matching recess with
a finger.
• Screw the workpiece support (11) to the device with
the knurled screw (10). Make sure that the spring
washer and the washer are assembled correctly.
Setting the workpiece supports (Fig. 3)
• Adjust the workpiece supports (11) using the knurled
screws (10). Make sure that the distance between
the grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel (2) and the
workpiece support (11) is as small as possible. Make
sure that the workpiece supports (11) do not touch
the grinding disc (12) or the polishing wheel (2).
• Keep adjusting the distance as the grinding disc (12)
or polishing wheel (2) wears.
Installing the spark protectors (Fig. 4)
• Secure the spark protectors (32) to the top of the de-
vice using the spark protector fastening screws (33),
spring washers, nuts and washers.
• Counter the nuts with pliers or a 7 mm spanner.
Tighten the fastening screws for the spark protec-
tors (33) with a Phillips screwdriver.
• Mount the spark protectors (32) so that the distance
between the grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel (2)
and the spark protector (32) is as small as possible.
The distance must not be more than 2mm. Make
sure that the spark protectors (32) do not touch the
grinding disc (12) or the polishing wheel (2).
• Keep adjusting the distance as the grinding disc (12)
or polishing wheel (2) wears.
Installing the protective glasses (Fig. 4)
• Fasten the protective glasses (1) to the brackets
provided on the spark protectors using the fastening
screws for the protective glasses (31), nuts, washers
and spring washers.
• Counter the nuts with pliers or a 8mm spanner.
Tighten the fastening screws for the protective
glasses (31) with a Phillips screwdriver.
10. Start up
m Attention!
Always make sure the device is fully assembled
before commissioning!

Switching on/off (Fig. 1)
m WARNING!
- There must be as little distance (gap) as possible
between the grinding disc (12) or polishing wheel
(2) and the workpiece support (11).
- If the device is suddenly completely braked or
blocked, the mains power must be switched off
immediately.
•
To switch on, set the ON/OFF switch (9) to posi-
tion I.
•
To switch off, set the on/off switch (9) to position 0.
Attention!
To avoid injury, always disassemble the flexible shaft
(5) when not in use.
Do not start grinding until the device has reached
its maximum speed.
Selecting the speed (Fig. 1)
You can set the desired speed on the speed control
(8).
Speed at the flexible shaft
The correct speed depends on the tool used and the
material to be machined.
Notes on speed adjustment on the flexible shaft
•
Small cutters/grinding pencils: high speed
•
Large cutters/grinding pencils: low speed
Working instructions
•
Note that the best results are achieved with low
pressure of the workpiece on the grinding disc, as
then work is done at a constant speed. Excessive
pressure on the workpiece brakes the grinding disc
or it comes to a standstill, this overloads the engine
and does not accelerate the work process.
•
For your own safety, always secure small workpiec-
es with a vice or screw clamp.
•
Fine work: Use the drive unit e.g. for engraving like
a pencil
•
Coarse work: Grasp the drive unit with your whole
hand.
Grinding
•
Place the workpiece on the workpiece support (11)
and slowly move it towards the grinding disc (12) at
the desired angle until it touches it.
