Chimney fire
Causes: A chimney fire can occur due to the use of wrong
fuel quality – e.g. with excessive wood moisture – or the
improper operation of the wood stove. Excess tar and water
vapour, so-called lubricant soot is hereby deposited on the
walls of the chimney. And if the saturation point of the
condensate is reached, this can lead to ignition of the chimney
with consid -erable flame and temperature development.
This is how this can effectively be prevented:
1. Use dry, well matured firewood.
2. Provide for sufficient oxygen during the combustion process.
3. Arrange for the chimney to be serviced and cleaned regularly.
4. Ensure that the chimney has the correct dimensions.
5. Do not add too much firewood, in order to prevent
a smouldering fire.
6. Always pay attention to the operating instructions of the
wood stove.
What has to be done in the case of an emergency?
– Notify the fire department – Emergency call.
– Tightly seal off the doors and combustion air supply
to the fireplace.
– Move away all flammable objects near the fireplace.
– Keep clear/vacate all accesses to the chimney cleaning
closures.
– Notify the master chimney sweep.
– Keep a fire extinguisher ready at hand.
Important! You should never attempt to extinguish the
chimney fire with water!
The evaporating water can lead to a "blasting effect" and
the chimney can be seriously damaged.
General malfunction
In case problems arise that you can not fix yourself, let the fire
burn out and the woodstove cool down.
Before recommissioning consult your authorized dealer or
master chimney sweep, or directly contact the Bullerjan GmbH.

In addition, these stoves meet the current guidelines of
the regulation for small and medium-sized combustion
plants of stage I and II of the Federal Emission Control Act
(BimSchV), the requirements pursuant to article 15a for
Austria and Switzerland
Insurances regulations. Furthermore EcoDesign is available.
T he Bullerjan ® wood stoves B² flex are intended to heat
the installation room.
For the purpose of proper operation of the product and in
order to maintain the warranty, these installation and oper-
ating instructions have to be complied with.
The technical testing of these products was conducted by the
