h) Using slings which are twisted, bent or have knots in any part of the sling is
forbidden!

Connecting slings by tying knots is forbidden!

Using slings, which seem to be damaged is forbidden! If such a sling has been
thoroughly inspected and accepted, it may be put into service.
k) When using a sling with clamping, it should be arranged in such a way that it
allows a natural angle (120o) to be formed and to avoid heat generation by
friction. The sling should never be forcibly moved into position and no attempt
should be made to tighten the loop. The proper way to secure a load in a
crimped sling is shown below. Tie wrapping provides greater security and
prevents the load from slipping through the sling.
WARNING! Slings can be cut by contact with sharp or unsecured edges of the
load/object being transported. To protect the sling, sharp edges must be secured.
USE OF THE SLING:
a) Persons performing the lifting operation should be properly trained. Attention
should be paid to the safety of personnel during the lifting operation. Persons
in the danger zone should be warned that such an operation is to take place
and, if necessary, they should be evacuated from the immediate vicinity.
b) Remember to secure the load when lifting in a basket suspension so that it is
mounted in a stable and balanced manner. In this type of lifting there is no
