7.4 Activating / Deactivating chime, siren
and test routines
The factory settings/settings after a reset of the MEVAC-4
system are as follows:
Function
For
Microphones
Chime
MEVAC-1PTT and
MEVAC-4PTT
Fireman's microphones
Siren
MEVAC-1FH and
MEVAC-1FT
Test routines
All speaker zones
Measurement tone
All test routines
level
Triggering of an error message
Impedance tolerance
for impedance changes in a line
*A reset will not reset a changed measurement tone level to 49 Vpp.
To change these settings:
1) Call up the selection menu and enter the password (chapter
7.1, steps 1 – 4) to call up the programming menu:
T1=NEXT
T2=LEVEL
T3=INST.
T4=MOD/REL

3) Here, the preliminary chime for the microphones can be
switched on/off with the button T2.
4) Press the button T1 again to call up the menu for the fire-
man's microphone:

5) Use the button T2 to switch on or off the siren that will
sound (for 6 sec. if file supplied on the memory card is
used) when the talk button of the fireman's microphone
is pressed.
6) The button T1 can be used any time to go to the next setting
option. The chime setting option is followed by the earth
fault measurement option (short of earth):
T2 = SHORT OF EARTH

Here, the earth fault measurement for the individual zones
can be switched on and off.
7) Press T2 to call up the respective submenu where you can
define if the measurement shall be made or not.

impedance tolerance. To return from the submenus to a
higher menu level, either press the button PROGRAM or
wait for approx. 15 sec.
T2 = IMPEDANCE

Important: When attenuators are used, the respective line
must be switched off (also see chapter 4.2.4).

measurement tone (20 Vpp – 60 Vpp). The factory setting is
49 Vpp. Always perform an installation run after making
changes!

ance measurement: SMALL (04), NORMAL (07) and HIGH

7.5 Resetting to the factory settings
To reset MEVAC-4 to its factory settings and to delete any
programming you may have made, proceed as follows:
ATTENTION With the reset, the entire manual programming
you may have made (with the exception of the menu lan-
guage and the measurement tone level) will be lost!
1) Switch off the unit.
2) The emergency power supply must be disconnected during
the reset. Disconnect the emergency power supply before
starting the reset.
3) Keep the buttons PROGRAM and T3 pressed at the same
time and switch on the unit again. The following display
will appear:
FACTORY RESET

4) Release the two buttons.
5) Switch off MEVAC-4 again and connect the emergency
supply unit.
6) Then perform an installation run (chapter 6.1.2) so that all
components connected will be recognized again.
