Only use replacement bars and chains specified by the

manufacturer. Incorrect replacement guide bars and saw
chains may cause chain breakage and/or kickback.
Follow the manufacturer's sharpening and mainten-
u
ance instructions for the saw chain. Decreasing the
depth gauge height can lead to increased kickback.

Additional safety warnings

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (in-
u
cluding children) with reduced physical, sensory or
mental capabilities, or lack of experience and know-
ledge, unless they have been given supervision or in-
struction concerning use of the appliance by a person
responsible for their safety. Children should be super-
vised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
Carefully check the area where the tool is to be used
u
for wildlife and pets. Wildlife and pets may be injured
while the machine is in operation.
Do not carry the chain saw by the hand guard/activation
u
lever for the kickback brake.
For safety reasons, the On/Off switch cannot be locked; it
u
must remain pressed during the entire operation.
Always make sure that the kickback brake is pushed for-
u
ward when you are not using the chain saw.
Always ensure all handles and guards are fitted when
u
using the machine. Never attempty to use an incomplete
machine or one fitted with unauthorised modification.

Electrical Safety

Your machine is double insulated for safety and requires no
earth connection. The operating voltage is 230 V AC, 50 Hz
(for non-EU countries 220 V, 240 V 50 Hz) Contact your
Bosch Service Centre for details. If in doubt contact a quali-
fied electrician or the nearest Bosch Service Centre.
Only extension cables of design type H07 RN-F or IEC
(60245 IEC 66) are permitted for use.
When operating the chain saw with an extension cable, the
following conductor cross-sections are required:

– 1.0 mm : max. length 40 m

– 1.5 mm : max. length 60 m
2
– 2.5 mm : max. length 100 m
It is recommended for increased electrical safety to use a Re-
sidual Current Device (RCD) with a tripping current of not
more than 30 mA. Always check your RCD every time you
use it.
For products not sold in GB:
Warning: For your safety, it is required that the plug (13) at-
tached to the machine is connected with the extension cord
(14) as shown. The coupling of the extension cord must be
protected against splash water, be made of rubber or coated
with rubber. The extension cord must be used with a cable
strain relief.

The connection lead must be inspected for signs of damage
at regular intervals and may only be used if in perfect condi-
tion.
If the supply cable on the product is damaged, it must only
be replaced by a Bosch Service Centre. Only use approved
extension cables.
Products sold in GB only:
Your product is fitted with an BS 1363/A approved electric
plug with internal fuse (ASTA approved to BS 1362).
If the plug is not suitable for your socket outlets, it should be
cut off and an appropriate plug fitted in its place by an au-
thorised customer service agent. The replacement plug
should have the same fuse rating as the original plug.
The severed plug must be disposed of to avoid a possible
shock hazard and should never be inserted into a mains
socket elsewhere.

Intended Use

The power tool is used for sawing trees and tree trunks near
the ground. Cuts can be sawed with or across the grain.
This power tool is not suitable for sawing mineral materials.
This power tool is not intended for felling trees.
