4. SAFETY NOTES

• Observe the load security regulations set out
in § 23 Strassenverkehrsordnung (German
road traffi c regulations).
• The baggage protection mesh does not
replace the prescribe loading securing
procedures. Luggage must be secured with
suitable mechanisms (e.g. lashing straps),
dogs must be restrained.
5. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Push the cross-bars together fully. Construct the baggage
protection mesh in accordance with the diagram. Fit the
rubber caps with the large diameter onto the top, open
pipe ends of the telescopic supports.
Fit the cross-headed screws into the drilled holes of the
clamping mechanism on the cross-bars. Do not tighten
the screws yet.
At the lower end of the telescopic supports, there is a
hexagonal screw fi tted, turn this until it sticks out by
about 20 - 30 mm and fi t the rubber feet with the small
diameter onto the ends.
Now the baggage protection mesh is complete and it can
be installed in the vehicle. To do this, place the baggage
protection mesh in the luggage compartment. Pull the
telescopic supports on the cross-bars as far apart as
ossible. Set the cross-bars to the right height for your
vehicle. Tighten the cross-headed screws. Undo the plastic
nuts on the telescopic supports and pull them far enough
apart that the baggage mesh fi ts between the vehicle roof
and the base of the boot. Now tighten the plastic nuts. To
then secure in place, rotate the manually-operated nuts
at the lower end of the supports in an counterclockwise
direction until the baggage protection mesh is fi rmly
seated. Pull the cross-bars out to the width of your boot.
6. MAINTENANCE AND CARE
MAINTENANCE: Regularly check the fi rm seating of the
baggage protection mesh.
CARE: Clean the baggage protection mesh only with a
mild cleaning agent and a damp cloth.
7. NOTES REGARDING ENVIRONMENTAL
PROTECTION
Please dispose of this device via the recycling bin or the
public/municipal collection points.
The materials can be recycled. You make an important
contribution to protecting our environment by recycling,
material utilisation or other forms of reusing waste
equipment!
