•
The foot module can now be removed and its flat cable can be pulled out.
•
Remove the screw from the B circuit board and lift the B circuit board from the rear case shell. Unsolder or
pull out the cable to the reflector, noting how it was routed.
•
The complete reflector can now be disengaged from the dome-shaped parts of the safety screen and
pulled slightly upwards. After this, it can be removed.
•
Disengage both sides and pull the complete reflector slide out to provide access to the flash tube.
•
The two parts of the case can now be separated at the hinge. First swing the upper part of the reflector
housing downwards and remove the locking nipple with its spring. Then swing the upper part back up and
disengage it from the rear case shell.
Assembly:
The flash unit is assembled in the reverse order. Take care that all cables are routed correctly, particularly
when engaging the front shell of the case. When laying the cable through the hinge, take care that there is
enough slack to permit connection of the reflector module. The reflector module should be installed only after
the front case shell has been fitted.
12.5. Complete check:
Each type of MB 44 AF-3 has to be checked in combination with an appropriate camera providing digital data
link. Preferably you should pay attention on flash features like power zoom control and indication of flash
range.
When using TTL flash control, the certain ammount of light output has to be measured with a light output
meter. The ammount of light can be compared with the light output of a sample flash unit.
