This chapter provides information on the other functions provided on the phone.
Filtering the Area Code
Phone numbers are normally transmitted together with the appropriate area code. As a
result, the phone number shown in the phone display could become confusing.
If you set-up the phone to filter out the area codes, only the actual phone number of the
caller will be displayed when a local call is received.
Navigate to the SET 2 CODE menu.

Setting a Code Number for an Outside Line
This setting is only required when your phone is connected to a PABX sys-
tem (public access branch exchange). The feature should only be set-up by
competent persons who understand the function.
If you use a PABX system, you must enter the number to access an outside line (nor-
mally a "0"). You must also set this number in the phone in order to be able to call back
callers from the call lists or to insert the number for an outside line later.

Making Calls with the Number for an Outside Line
The number for an outside line must be set-up before being used for the first time (refer
to Section Setting a Code Number for an Outside Line on Page 36).
Select the phone number required. You can also select an entry from the call lists.
