5.1.4 BusRail Mounting
DANGER! Explosion hazard due to insufficient discharge or defective rail connection!
Non-compliance may result in serious or even fatal injuries.
Connect the DIN rail that is in the hazardous area or that is in operation with
explosion-protected equipment to the potential equalisation in the
explosion-protected area.
Only connect the end of a BusRail segment to one BusRail end
(BusRail connecting cable type 9494/A1-E0 or type 9494/L1-V).
The BusRail can be connected to either terminal X5 or to terminal X6
(see the "Device design" chapter). Simultaneous operation of BusRails on
terminal X5 and terminal X6 is not permissible.
With a redundant socket, terminal X6 is only available above the right-hand slot in the
socket.
Mounting the BusRail directly
Both the BusRail 9494/S1-M4 (4 modules) and BusRail 9494/S1-E2 (2 modules)
can be used to connect the BusRail directly to the socket (for further information about
mounting the BusRail, see the BusRail operating instructions).
(16) (15)
Loosen the clamping screw (15) on the terminal (X5 or X6) and remove the
terminal cover (16).
