3.5 Plumb the sensor
Tubing and fittings are supplied by the user.
1. Install two fittings with ¼-18 NPT threads. Refer to the illustrated steps that follow.
2. Plumb the sample to the sensor with 6 mm (¼-inch) ID tubing (minimum).
Note: The direction of water flow through the sensor is not important. But, up flow is recommended to prevent
bubble interference or loss of sample pressure.
3. Start the flow of sample water to the sensor. Continuous sample flow is necessary for accurate
measurements.
4. Make sure that there are no leaks at the sensor.
Note: Leaks can let air into the sensor, which can increase the PAH reading when the air is caught in the
sensing element.
3.6 Install the latest software
Make sure that the SC Controller has the latest software installed. Use an SD card to install the latest
software on the SC Controller.
1. Go to the product page for the applicable SC Controller on http://hach.com.
2. Click the "Downloads" tab.
3. Scroll down to "Software/Firmware".
4. Click the link for the SC Controller software.
5. Save the files to an SD card.
6. Install the files on the SC Controller. Refer to the software installation instructions supplied with
the software files.
