2. INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
2.1) Setting
With the tool in rest position
– Select the appropriate die set for the connector to be crimped.
– Press release pin (27) and withdraw die stop pin (22).
– Insert dies into guide way on head (21).
– Insert die stop pin (22) until fully located.
Before carrying out further operations make sure the die stop pin is completely inserted; a partial
insertion may cause damage to the head.
– Insert the conductor in the connector.
– Position the connector between the dies and ensure the correct location of the crimp.
2.2) Die advancement
– Set tool to release position
– Rotate main handle (04) to operating position
– Operate moveable handle (51), for lower die advancement.
This first stage rapidly closes the dies to the connector.
Make sure that dies are exactly positioned on desired crimp point, otherwise re-open dies following
instructions as per § 2.4 and position the connector.
2.3) Crimping
– Continue to operate the moveable handle (51).
The tool will automatically change over to the high pressure stage.
The ram will advance until the dies touch.
– It is recommended to continue pumping until the maximum pressure valve is activated and a
click is heard.
2.4) Die opening
– Rotate the main handle (04) to release position
Close handles completely: the ram will retract and the dies will open.
2.5) Rest setting
– Retract thoroughly the ram, operating as per § 2.4.
– Keeping handles closed, rotate main handle to rest position
be locked.
– Store the tool in its case.
