CAUTION
Hot plant components!
® Risk of burns!
Only work on plant that has
G
cooled down.
CAUTION
Do not apply pressure to butterfl y
G
valves installed in a piping without an
operator.
CAUTION
Do not use additional seals or grease
G
when installing.
CAUTION
Flange diameter too large.
® Poor sealing between seat (liner) and
butterfl y disc (see fi gure 2).
® Poor sealing between seat (liner) and
mating fl anges.
® Damage to seat (liner).
Use butterfl y valve with suitable fl ange
G
diameter.
CAUTION
Flange diameter too small.
® Locking of the butterfl y disc (see
fi gure 3).
Use butterfl y valve with suitable fl ange
G
diameter.
Ensure that valve body, disc, shaft
G
and seal material are appropriate and
compatible to handle the working
medium.
See chapter 5 "Technical data".
Installation position, fl ow direction
G
and fl ow velocities in accordance with
chapter 5 "Technical data".
Installation work must only be performed
G
by trained personnel.
Use appropriate protective gear as
G
specifi ed in plant operator's guidelines.
Do not apply external force to the
G
butterfl y valve.
D480
Choose the installation location so that
G
the butterfl y valve cannot be used as a
foothold (climbing aid).
Lay the pipeline so that the butterfl y
G
valve body is protected against
transverse and bending forces, and also
vibrations and tension.
Align the fl anges and piping precisely
G
with the valves.
® Perfect tightness.
® Free movement of the butterfl y disc.
10.1
Information on the installation
location
Arrange the bolt holes of the
G
piping and valve in a way that
they - are symmetrical to the
two main axes - are not on the
two main axes.
No additional fl ange integrated seals are
required.
For installation between pipe fl anges, the
lip shape of the sealing surfaces of the
elastomer seat (liner) creates a tightly
sealed connection between valve body
and fl anges.
If the valve is installed between the pipe
fl anges, an additional bracket is not
required either for the valve or for any
operator and control.
Inside diameter of the piping must
correspond to the nominal diameter of
the butterfl y valve.
