Electrical connection
The FRANKE cooking hob is not supplied with a power cable.
Connecting the power cable to the terminals
The power cable must be suitable for the type of electric connection used (see wiring
chart below - fig. 3). To connect the power cable open the terminal box by unscrewing the
cover screw and use a screwdriver to lever it off the two fastening tongues.
Connecting the power cable to the system
If the hob is permanently connected to the power supply, install a circuit breaker with a
contact opening which permits complete disconnection in conditions of overvoltage
category III
The supply cable must also be positioned so that it is never in contact with temperatures
above 50°C.
Before carrying out connections ensure that:
- the limiting valve and the house system can support the appliance load
(see specifications data plate);
- the power system is supplied with efficient earthing in conformance with legal
standards and provisions;
- the multi-polar switch can be easily accessed from the installed hob.
N.B.:do not use reductions, adapters or shunts as these can lead to overheating and
burning.
Caution: if the hob is to be fitted above a built in oven, the electric connections of the
hob and those of the oven must be carried out separaelt, both for safety and to facilitate
oven removal.
