In case of malfunction
Check if the collar is properly adjusted and positioned around your dog's neck.
Make sure the two electrodes are properly tightened on the unit.
Check if the battery is still operating (see paragraph : checking/replacing battery).
If the problem persists, return the device to your retailer.
Cautions for use
- The system detects only barking from the dog wearing the collar. Nevertheless,
although the device is extremely reliable, it can be triggered unintentionally. It is
therefore advisable not to leave the dog unattended when wearing the collar.
- To prevent the collar going off accidentally, we advise against your dog wearing a
metal identity tag around his neck.
- Keep the CANICALM out of reach of children. It is not a toy for you or your children.
- Remove the battery from the collar if you are not using it for 3 months or more. Never
leave a discharged battery in the unit: leakage could damage your CANICALM.
How to use CANICALM
CANICALM should be used on dogs over 6 months'old.
The CANICALM bark limiter collar has several functions (sound beeps, short and long
impulses, sensitivity regulation). You must thoroughly understand how it works and adjust
the collar before placing it around your dog's neck.
We advise you to start with sound beeps without impulses. In this way the dog can
understand the connection between the operation of the device and its barks.
Although the sound beeps will undoubtedly not be enough, at the beginning, to stop
the dog barking, they will help it to understand what will then happen.
After a few hours, if the dog continues to bark, add a short impulse, and if this is not
enough, add a long one.
The dog will associate this unpleasant sensation with its barking, and will relate it to the
fact that it is wearing a collar.
Do not leave the collar more than 8 hours per day on your dog. You do not want the dog
to stop barking definitively, but to limit the disturbance caused by excessive barking.
