BATTERY REMOVAL/INSTALLATION
1. Battery removal
Hold the handle tightly and push the battery latch to
remove the battery (Fig. 3).
CAUTION
Never short-circuit the battery.
2. Battery installation
Insert the battery while observing its polarities (Fig. 3).
CHARGING
Battery and battery charger are not included with this
product.
For rechargeable batteries, please charge in according
to the handling instructions of the charger which you are
using. (Fig. 4)
BEFORE USE
1. Preparing the Nails and Performing Safety
Inspections
WARNING
○ Do not use the product near fl ammable liquids or
gases.
○ Do not place the product near children or other non-
qualifi ed people.
○ Run a full check to make sure that no screws are loose.
○ Check to make sure that there are no damaged or
missing parts, or malfunctioning parts owing to rust,
etc.
Prepare nails that match the job at hand. (Refer to NAIL
SELECTION)
Refer to MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION and carry
out safety inspections without fail.
2. Checking Push Lever Operations
WARNING
Always make sure the battery removed from the power
tool when checking push lever operations.
Move the nose up and down and check that the push
lever and nose slide smoothly. (Fig. 9)
Clean the sliding area on the push lever if it doesn't
slide smoothly.
3. How to Use the Nose Cap
WARNING
When attaching and detaching the nose cap, be sure to
turn off the trigger and disconnect the battery.
When nailing decorative plywood or other soft
materials, attach the nose cap to the nose.
The nose protects the surface of the workpiece from
scratches or damage.
This product is equipped with two types of nose caps.
Change nose caps as required. (Fig. 10)
(1) Attaching and detaching the nose cap
The nose cap is attached simply by pressing it onto the
nose. Holding the nose cap with the holes toward the
front of the power tool, match the three protrusions with
the three notches in the nose. (Fig. 10)
To detach the nose cap, pull it off with your fi ngers.
If the nose cap is hard to detach, insert a slotted
screwdriver or thin bar into the gap between the nose
and the nose cap.
(2) Storing the nose cap
After removing the nose cap, insert it onto the rib of the
magazine. (Fig. 11)
4. Loading Nails
CAUTION
When loading or removing the nails, be sure to turn off
the trigger and disconnect the battery.
NOTE
○ Use nail strips of 30 or more nails.
This power tool is designed so that the anti-blank
fi ring mechanism is activated when less than 20 nails
remain.
○ Do not load nails of diff erent lengths at the same time.
○ Do not load multiple strips of few nails at one time.
Doing so may lead to jamming or other malfunctions.
○ Nails from 15 to 35 mm can be used with this power
tool.
Place the tips of the nails of whatever length against the
bottom of the groove in the magazine. (Fig. 13)
(1) Lightly press the stop lever.
(2) Slowly pull out the magazine cover. (Fig. 14)
(3) Push the nails against the uneven surface of the
magazine and insert the nail tips as far as they will go
into the groove of the magazine.
(4) Push the nails in the magazine into the blade guide with
your fi ngers. (Fig. 15)
(5) Push the magazine cover forward to return it to the
closed position, checking that the nails do not stick out
above the uneven surface of the magazine.
NOTE
○ Close the magazine cover gently.
Applying excessive force may result in deformation
of the nail strip, preventing the magazine cover from
closing.
○ If the magazine cover is hard to close, check the groove
of the magazine.
Nails sometimes get into the groove. If this happens,
tilt the power tool and remove the nails with a precision
screwdriver or thin bar. (Fig. 16)
5. How to Remove Nails
(1) Press the stop lever and pull out the magazine cover.
(2) Remove the nails from the blade guide or magazine.
NOTE
○ If the strip breaks inside the blade guide, nails may be
left behind when the nails at the front are removed.
○ Check carefully inside the blade guide, as it will be hard
to see any nails that have been left behind there.
○ If nails get jammed and cannot be removed, refer to the
section "Removing Nail Jams."
6. Anti Blank Firing Mechanism
This nailer is equipped with an anti blank fi ring
mechanism to prevent blank fi ring when the nails run
out.
The trigger will cease to operate when 20 or fewer nails
remain.
Approximately 20 nails will remain after fi ring the strip
of nails, but replenishing the magazine with nails of the
same length will enable nailing to be continued.
