Safety information

Before using this product, carefully read these instructions

for use and those of the Air Guard in use.
Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to

use, inspect, repair and service the product. Dräger
recommends a Dräger service contract for all maintenance
activities and that all repairs are carried out by Dräger.
Strictly follow the instructions for use. The user must fully

understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the Intended use
section of this document.
Do not dispose of the instructions for use. Ensure that the

instructions for use are retained and appropriately used by
the product user.
Only trained, expert personnel may use this product.

Comply with all local and national rules and regulations

associated with this product.
Use only original Dräger parts and accessories for

maintenance work. Otherwise, the proper functioning of the
product may be impaired.
Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify

the product.
Notify Dräger in the event of any product or product

component fault or failure.

2.1

Definitions of alert icons

The following alert icons are used in this document to indicate
and highlight areas of the associated text that require particular
attention by the user. A definition of the meaning of each icon
is as follows:
WARNING
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in death or serious injury.
CAUTION
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in injury. It may also be used to alert against unsafe
practices.
NOTICE
Indicates a potentially hazardous situation. If not avoided, it
could result in damage to the product or environment.

Product-specific safety instructions

CAUTION
Danger of property damage due to direct sunlight
The PID 5000 may overheat and become damaged if exposed
to direct sunlight.
► Mount the PID 5000 so that it is not exposed to direct
sunlight.
