In order to prevent damage to health, it is
strongly recommended that you do not
use TENS or acupuncture:
x If you have a high fever (e.g. > 39 °C).
x If you have known or acute arrhythmias,
other problems involving cardiac stimuli
and their transmission to the heart, or
myocardial damage.
x If you have seizure disorders (such as
epilepsy).
x If you have cancer.
x After operations in which increased mus-
cle contractions could interfere with the
healing process.
x On the eyeballs, navel or windpipe, in the
neck area or carotid artery, larynx and in
the vicinity of the femoral artery.
x In the genital area.
x On acutely or chronically diseased (in-
jured or inflamed) skin, e.g. painless or
painful inflammation or reddening.
x If you have rashes (e.g. allergies), burns,
bruises, swelling and open wounds or
those in the process of healing.
x On surgical scars involved in healing.
x When simultaneously connected to a
high-frequency surgical instrument.
x In the area of the ribcage, as this can in-
crease the risk of ventricular fibrillation.

x If you have tumour diseases.
x If you have artery disease or impaired
circulation.
x If you are pregnant.
x On small children in the area of the fon-
tanelle.
x When driving a car or operating a ma-
chine.
x Whenever doing anything in which an un-
foreseen reaction (such as increased
muscle contraction despite low intensity)
can be hazardous.
x On sleeping persons.
x Do not use this unit simultaneously with
other units that transmit electrical pulses
to your body.
x Use of this device does not remove the
need for surgical intervention or therapy
or therapies and medication prescribed
by a doctor.
x Do not use this device at the same time
as devices for artificial ventilation or life
support.
Consult your doctor before use
in the following situations:
x Acute diseases, particularly in case of
suspected or known blood coagulation
disorders, susceptibility to thromboem-
bolic disease or malignant growths.
x If you have diabetes or other diseases.
