PROVISION
Total surface bearing (TSB) prosthetic sockets provide an effective and
clinically validated option for socket provision. The Icecast Anatomy
pressure casting system allows the clinician to produce a reliable,
repeatable and well-fitting TSB socket.
DESIGN
Icecast Anatomy is a single chamber pressure casting system, which
provides pressure to shape the soft tissue. The single chamber pressure
system is designed to provide optimal pressure distribution. The
chamber is reinforced with matrix, for durability and to control
elongation.
INDICATIONS FOR USE
The Icecast Anatomy pressure casting system is used for direct
lamination using the Modular Socket System (MSS). MSS is a complete
fabrication system for creating laminated sockets. The MSS provides the
clinician with a wide range of socket and suspension applications.
ICECAST ANATOMY CONTRAINDICATIONS
Residual limbs longer than 25 cm
Residual limbs shorter than 12 cm
Distal circumference more than 32 cm
Distal circumference less than 16 cm
Proximal circumference over 45 cm
PRESSURE SELECTION
To provide consistent results it is advised that the following procedure is
used:
1. Prior to rolling, ensure the chamber pressure is at 20 mmHg
(Figure 1).
2. Roll the Anatomy Bladder over the residual limb ensuring the pump
unit aligns with long axis of the limb (Figure 2).
3. During roll on, deflate the chamber for easier donning, to minimize
excessive elongation and to avoid excessive pressure build up.
4. Pump the chamber to the desired pressure (see chart below)
(Figure 3)
