Switching off:
♦ Release the On/Off switch
lock-out .
♦ Disconnect the power cable

Working procedures

■ Hold the hedge trimmer in front of you .
■ Tilt the safety cutter bar in the direction you are
trimming . Cutting slowly, at a speed of around
3–4 seconds per metre .
■ If you want to cut a straight top edge, stretch
out a string at the desired height next to the
hedge as a reference line .
■ For an even cut, cut the side of the hedge from
bottom to top .

Maintenance and cleaning

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Switch
the hedge trimmer off and pull out
the power plug before starting any
work on the appliance.
■ If the hedge trimmer is shut down for mainte-
nance, inspection or storage, switch off the
motor and ensure that all rotating parts have
come to a standstill . Allow the hedge trimmer to
cool down before carrying out an inspection,
settings, etc .
■ The hedge trimmer must always be clean and
dry .
■ Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the housing .
♦ Check the hedge trimmer for loose screws on
the safety cutter bar
necessary .
♦ Remove stuck cuttings . Always wear gloves .
♦ Maintain the safety cutter bar
spray or an oil can .

Storage

■ Store the hedge trimmer in a dust-free and dry
location .
■ You can hang up the hedge trimmer from the
keyhole .
■ Use a screw screwed into a wall plug (the
screw head
diameter should be approx . 7–10 mm) . The
screw head should protrude about 1 cm from
the wall . When drilling, make sure that you do
not damage any concealed supply lines .

Disposal

The packaging consists of environmen-
tally friendly material . It can be dis-
posed of in local recycling containers .
Do not dispose of power tools in
the normal domestic waste!
European Directive 2012/19/EU
requires that worn-out power tools be
collected separately and recycled in an environ-
mentally compatible manner .
Your local community or municipal authorities can
provide information on how to dispose of the worn-
out appliance .
Dispose of the packaging in an envi-
ronmentally friendly manner . Note the
labelling on the packaging and sepa-
rate the packaging material compo-
nents for disposal if necessary . The packaging ma-
terial is labelled with abbreviations (a) and
numbers (b) with the following meanings: 1–7:
plastics, 20–22: paper and cardboard, 80–98:
composites .
