1 Safety instructions
Intended use
Force transducers in the C15 type series are designed solely for measuring
static and dynamic compressive forces within the load limits stated in the spec­
ifications. Any other use is not the intended use.
To ensure safe operation, always comply with the instructions in the installation
and user manual, the following safety rules, and the data in the technical data
sheets. It is also essential to observe the applicable legal and safety regula­
tions for the application concerned.
The force transducers are not intended for use as safety components. Please
also refer to the "Additional safety precautions" section. Proper and safe opera­
tion of force transducers requires proper transport, correct storage, setup and
installation, and careful operation.
Load-carrying capacity limits
Comply with the information in the technical data sheets when using force
transducers. The respective specified maximum loads in particular must never
be exceeded. The following limits set out in the technical data sheets must not
be exceeded:
S Force limits
S Lateral force limits
S Maximum eccentricity of force application
S Breaking forces
S Permissible dynamic loads
S Temperature limits
S Limits of electrical load-carrying capacity
Please note that when several force transducers are interconnected, the load/
force distribution is not always uniform, so an individual force transducer may
be overloaded even though the cumulative signal has yet to reach the sum of
the nominal (rated) forces of the sensors connected in parallel.
