5 pH and redox measurement
5.1 Preparation of the pH / redox electrode
dry?
5.2 Calibration of the pH electrode
The electrode data of the pH electrode is subject to large fluctuations due to ageing and spe-
cimen scatter. A check of the last calibration with suitable buffer solutions should therefore
be carried out before any measurement. If there are deviations, recalibration is recommended.
Please note the instrument setting for calibration:
• Ensure that the parameter pH ( ) is selected in the display.
• In the configuration menu, set whether 1-, 2- or 3-point calibration is to be performed
(<SEt PArA>: CAL)
• In the configuration menu, choose a suitable buffer series
(<SEt PArA>: CAL.P)

Rinse the electrode with distilled or deionised water
and dab the electrode carefully with a paper towel.
Remove the storage flask. Check the
condition of the electrode. If the sensor
is dry, place the electrode in fresh storage
solution (3 M KCl) for at least 5 hours.
Check the sensor tip for air bubbles.
If any are present, they can be removed
by gently shaking the sensor.
