2.4.2 Selection of fixture clamping jaws
1. External support type:
In case the radian of the edge of the rim is great, the clamping jaw shown in Fig. 2 shall be used for alignment and the alignment end faces
of the four clamping jaws all must be aligned with the edge of the rim.
2. External clamping type:
As the edge of the rim of a vehicle is a tiny round end and is not curved generally, the clamping jaws shown in Fig. 3 shall be used for
alignment and the alignment end faces of the four clamping jaws all must be aligned with the edge of the rim.
2.4.3 Fixture installation
The fixture is centered with the taper pin before delivery, and thus centering is not required any more. Rotate the hand wheel until the
opening of clamping jaws fits the diameter of the rim. The mounting direction of the fixture is as shown in Fig. 4. The fixture handle shall
face upward and be perpendicular to the ground; the alignment end faces of the four clamping jaws must be aligned with the edge of the
rim; the hand wheel shall be rotated once again to adjust the position and lock the fixture on the rim; the fixture shall be shaken once by
hand to check whether it is secured firmly.
Warning: The fixture shall be secured to the rim with the protective cover, in order to prevent the fixture from slipping off.
