Replacing the activated carbon
filter

Press the
button (31) to switch off
the reminder for replacing the activated
carbon filter. The

Remove the holder for the activated
carbon filter (15) from the water
tank (13). Open the compartment
flap (16) and remove the old activated
carbon filter (image C3).
Remove the new activated carbon fil-
ter (17) from its plastic packaging and
thoroughly rinse under running water
in order to remove any potential pro-
duction residues.
Insert the new activated carbon filter
into the holder and close the compart-
ment flap.
Insert the activated carbon filter (15)
into the recess in the water tank (image
C4).
Press the
button (31) to reactivate
the reminder for changing the activated
carbon filter.
NOTE

The reminder for changing the acti-
vated carbon filter is only active when
the
symbol appears on the display
but is not flashing.

In order not to impair the service life of the
appliance and the quality of the coffee, the
appliance has to be descaled at regular
intervals. The descaling intervals depend on
symbol disappears
the water hardness. We recommend des-
caling every 6 weeks.

Descaling
Fill the water tank with water to the 10
mark and citric acid or vinegar essence
(approximately 5 % acidic solution).
Press the
button (27) and allow a
cup full to run through.
Interrupt the brewing process for
10 minutes and allow the entire descal-
ing solution to run through.
Empty the coffee jug (7).
Allow two tank fills of clear water to run
through the appliance for rinsing.
Wash all removable parts with warm
water and washing-up liquid before
brewing coffee again.
If you use a commercially available
descaling agent, observe the manu-
facturer's instructions for use.
If the appliance is severely scaled,
it may be necessary to repeat the
descaling process.
