Start-up
Prior to the first use and after the device has not be operated for an extended period
of time, carry out a boiling process with fresh water without coffee grounds. To do
so, fill the tank to the 8-cup mark (version with glass jug) or to the 6-cup mark
(version with thermos jug), as otherwise the jug can overflow.
Coffee preparation
Open the water tank (6) by removing the lid (5). Only pour cold water into the tank
(6). The water level indicator is for the amount of fresh water that is needed to brew
the desired number of cups per 125 ml coffee.
Remove the lid (3) of the aroma filter (2) to add the coffee powder. Place a size 4
paper filter into the filter (2), but fold the stamped edge before doing so. The paper
filter should not protrude over the edge of the filter, therefore you must push it
down slightly with your hand.
Fill with the required amount of coffee powder. Depending on your personal taste,
use approx. 5-7 g of medium ground coffee per cup. If it is ground too finely, the
filter can overflow.
Place the lid (3) on the filter (2) and place this on the aroma glass jug/ Cromargan®
thermos jug.
Insert the mains plug into the socket and push the Start / Stop button (1). The ring
light illuminates white and the preparation begins.
You can cancel the preparation at any time by pressing the Start / Stop button (1).
Wait until all of the coffee has run into the jug. Remove the jug from the appliance
and take the filter (2) out of the jug. A drip-stop valve in the filter prevents coffee
from dripping.
Now close the pot with the lid.
Note: if there is no water in the water tank and a brewing process has been started,
an audible alarm sounds.
