Network and USB
Problem
The PC server/MCX-2000/
Internet radio does not
function properly.
The music in the PC
server cannot be played
back.
Windows Media Connect
2.0 cannot be connected.
The MusicCAST server
cannot be connected.
The Internet radio cannot
be played.
The music files and
directories in the USB
device cannot be viewed.
The USB device cannot
be recognized.
"Disconnected" is
displayed even when a
USB device is present.
Cause
The IP address is not set properly.
The network cable is not connected.
The PC does not have Windows Media
Connect 2.0 installed in it.
The music is recorded in a format that
cannot be played on this unit. This unit
cannot play music formats other than
WMA, MP3 and WAV (PCM format).
Also note that it cannot play certain
music files even if these are recorded in
the WMA, MP3 or WAV format.
The music is copyright-protected.
The Windows XP PC is logging on to a
domain.
You are attempting to connect to
MCX-1000. The MusicCAST server that
can be connected by this unit is
MCX-2000.
Auto Configuration is not executed.
The firewall of the network device is
activated. The Internet radio can be
played only when it passes through the
port designated by each radio station.
The port number is variable depending
on radio station.
Connection to the Internet is
disconnected.
The music files and directories are placed
in locations other than the FAT area.
You are attempting to browse directory
hierarchies of over 8 levels or a directory
with more than 500 files.
The connected USB device is other than
a USB mass storage class USB memory
device or USB portable audio player.
This unit recognized the USB device as
an illegal device.
Remedy
Set the DHCP server function of the router to ON.
Alternately, perform manual configuration
according to the current operating environment.
Connect it properly.
Install Windows Media Connect 2.0 in the PC.
Play music recorded in a format that this unit is
compatible with.
This unit cannot play copyright-protected music.
Log on to the local machine instead of the
domain.
Use MCX-2000 or the PC server.
Execute "Auto Configure".
Check the firewall setting of the network device.
Check the configuration of the network device,
and then contact the network connection provider.
Place music files and directories in the FAT area.
Modify the data structure on your USB device.
This unit can recognize only a USB mass storage
class USB memory device or USB portable audio
player. Also note that it cannot recognize certain
USB devices even when they are devices as
described above.
Some devices may become easier to recognize
when they are inserted before turning this unit on.
Turn this unit off then on again.
