APPLICATIONS
By com bined actions of ROTATION and IM PACT:
Boring holes in hard m aterials (concrete, m arble,
granite, tiles, etc.)
By ROTATIONAL action:
Boring holes in m etal, w ood and plastic.
PRIOR TO OPERATION
1. Pow er source
Ensure that the pow er source to be utilized conform s
to the pow er requirem ents specified on the product
nam eplate.
2. Pow er sw itch
Ensure that the pow er sw itch is in the OFF position. If
the plug is connected to a receptacle w hile the pow er
sw itch is in the ON position, the pow er tool w ill start
operating im m ediately, inviting serious accident.
3. Extension cord
When the w ork area is rem oved from the pow er
source, use an extension cord of sufficient thickness
and rated capacity. The extension cord should be
kept as short as practicable.
4. Selecting the appropriate drill bit
When boring concrete or stone
Use the drill bits specified in the Optional Accessories.
When boring m etal or plastic
Use an ordinary m etalw orking drill bit.

When boring w ood
Use an ordinary w oodw orking drill bit.
How ever, w hen drilling 6.5 m m or sm aller holes, use
a m etalw orking drill bit.
5. M ounting and dismounting of the bit
For keyed chuck (Fig. 1)
(1) Open the chuck jaw s, and insert the bit into the
chuck.
(2) Place the chuck w rench in each of the three holes
in the chuck, and turn it in the clockw ise direction
(view ed from the front side). Tighten securely.
(3) To rem ove the bit, place the chuck w rench into one
of the holes in the chuck and turn it in the
counterclockw ise direction.
For keyless chuck
The country of use w ill determ ine w hether Type A or
Type B keyless chuck is required.
Type A (Fig. 2)
(1) M ounting the bit
Turn the lock collar in the direction " AUF" and open
the chuck. After inserting the drill bit into the chuck
as far it w ill go, turn the lock collar in the " ZU"
direction. Grip the ring and close the chuck by turning
the sleeve clockw ise as view ed from the front.
(2) Dism ounting the bit
Turn the lock collar in the direction " AUF" to release
the chucking force. Grip the ring and open the chuck
by turning the sleeve counterclockw ise.
NOTE
When the sleeve does not becom e loose any further,
fix the side handle to ring, hold side handle firm ly,
then turn the sleeve to loosen by hand. (Fig. 4)
Type B (Fig. 3)
(1) M ounting the bit
Turn the sleeve counterclockw ise and open the chuck.
After inserting the drill bit into the chuck as far it w ill
go, grip the ring and close the chuck by turning the
sleeve clockw ise as view ed from the front.
(2) Dism ounting the bit
Grip the ring and open the chuck by turning the
sleeve counterclockw ise.
