It is best to store bread in sealed packaging.
Do not use slices of bread which are too thick or too thin. If a slice of bread gets stuck, remove the
mains plug from the mains socket and wait for the toaster to cool. If necessary, push the start lever
(3) up and remove the bread. Or use a non-metallic object (such as a wooden or plastic skewer) to
release the bread. Do not touch the heating elements on the toaster.
Allow the device to cool down for about 15 seconds before toasting any more bread. This
guarantees an even level of browning for the different pieces of bread and prevents the toaster
overheating through virtually continuous operation.
If you are toasting rolls on the roll holder (2), turn them over after toasting and toast them again on
the other side. This ensures they are evenly warmed and browned.
8.3 Toasting
Risk of fire!
In order to prevent overheating, never cover the device while it is in use.
Risk of burns!
When switched on, the temperature of exposed surfaces may be very high. Only touch
the controls of the toaster.
There is a risk of burning if standard sliced bread is not used. Because of the smaller size
or the shape, there is a risk of touching hot parts when removing the toast.
Risk of electric shock!
Do not insert metal objects into the toast slots (1). If a piece of bread or toast gets stuck
in a toast slot (1), remove the mains plug from the socket before proceeding.
1. Connect the power cable (9) plug to a live mains socket.
2. Set the level of browning you want on the control dial (8). You can set the browning level from 1
(light) to 7 (dark).
3. Place the bread in the toast slots (1).
4. Push the start lever (3) down. The indicator on the stop button (7) lights up while it is in use. The bread
is then toasted.
Use the stop button (7) to stop the toasting process at any time.
If you only wish to toast one slice of bread, use the control dial (8) to select a half
browning level less. This guarantees the same level of browning.
5. The toaster switches off automatically as soon as the set level of browning is reached. The toast pops
up.
6. Remove the toast from the toast slots (1).
