Cleaning and maintenance

Before cleaning the appliance, disconnect the plug from the mains power
socket!
►
Allow the appliance to cool down completely if necessary .
►
Never immerse the appliance in water to clean it .
CAUTION
Damage to the appliance!

To avoid irreparable damage to the appliance, ensure that no moisture can
penetrate the appliance during cleaning .
►
Do not use aggressive scouring cleaners or solvents, or a wire brush or
other abrasive objects to clean the surfaces .
Self-cleaning function
♦
Fill the water tank 0 with water if necessary .
♦
If the appliance is switched on, set the temperature control 4 to "MAX" and
wait until the appliance has heated up .
♦
Hold the iron horizontally over a suitable container or sink .
♦
Press the "Self clean" button i for about 5 seconds . The self-cleaning
process starts and the "Self clean" button i flashes . Steam flows from
the steam exit holes in the sole of the iron 6 . Any impurities that may be
present are flushed out .
♦
As soon as the self-cleaning process is complete (after about 80 seconds),
the "Self clean" button i stops flashing .
Replacing the limescale filter
After pressing the steam button 5 for a total of around 11 hours, it is time to
replace the limescale filter e .
The appliance will notify you when the time comes: As soon as the "Anti calc"
button u flashes, you need to change the limescale filter e .
Proceed as follows:

Set the On/Off switch w to the position "0" to switch the appliance off .
♦
Pull the water tank 0 by the grip 9 out of the base station q .
♦
Pull the limescale filter e upwards out of the limescale filter shaft .
♦
Place the new limescale filter e in the limescale filter shaft and press it
down until it is firmly in place .
