Please Note: Your MINOX ZE 5i riflescope
offers the exceptional advantage of having a
spare battery with you at all times. The practical
battery holder not only holds the active battery
in place, but accommodates a spare battery for
quick replacement if the need should arise.
Adjusting the illumination
Turning the reticle illumination on and off can be
accomplished using the illumination adjustment
ring (Fig. 2). The illumination is deactivated if the
0 is aligned with the white dot on the tube (Fig.
2). Turn the ring to level 1 to activate the illumi-
nation of the reticle at the lowest intensity. The
brightness adjustment is continuous, with num-
bers on the adjustment ring to facilitate setting
a desired brightness level without having to look
through the scope.
To increase battery life, the electronics in the ZE 5i
offer the following automatic shutdown functions:
– Laying the weapon on its side (at an angle
of 45° or more) or putting it into a vertical
position (at an angle of 75° or more) will auto-
matically deactivate the reticle illumination.
Taking the weapon up again within 2 hours
will automatically reactivate the reticle illu-
mination. If the weapon remains on its side or
in a vertical position for more than two hours,
the reticle illumination needs to be adjusted in
order to turn it on again.
– After two hours without adjusting the bright-
ness, the reticle illumination switches off.
Adjusting the brightness setting will switch it
on again.
The illumination can be programmed to perform
at two illumination curves. To set a darker curve,
