sition schieben und mit den Kanalfadern (13) das
gewünschte Lautstärkeverhältnis einstellen.
5.4 Abhören der Signale über einen Kopfhörer
Die Vorhörfunktion (PFL = „pre fader listening") er-
möglicht es, die Kanäle 1 und 2 über einen Stereo-
Kopfhörer an der Buchse PHONES (22) abzuhören,
auch wenn der jeweilige Kanal ausgeblendet ist. So
kann z. B. auf einer CD der gewünschte Titel ausge-
wählt oder der richtige Zeitpunkt zum Einblenden
einer Tonquelle abgepasst werden.
Wahlweise ist es auch möglich, über den Kopfhö-
rer das laufende Musikprogramm vor dem Master-
regler (4) abzuhören.
Vorsicht! Stellen Sie die Kopfhörerlautstärke nie
sehr hoch ein. Hohe Lautstärken kön-
nen auf Dauer das Gehör schädigen!
Das menschliche Ohr gewöhnt sich an
hohe Lautstärken und empfindet sie
nach einiger Zeit als nicht mehr so hoch.
Darum erhöhen Sie eine hohe Lautstär-
ke nach der Gewöhnung nicht weiter.
5.4.1 Vorhören der Eingangskanäle über
Kopfhörer
1) Zum Vorhören der Eingangskanäle in Stereo den
Schalter ASSIGN (18) in die linke Position
„CH 1 – CH 2" stellen und den Überblendregler
(19) für die PFL-Funktion wie folgt einstellen:
Soll Kanal 1 abgehört werden, den Regler
ganz nach links schieben (Position „CH 1").
Soll Kanal 2 abgehört werden, den Regler
ganz nach rechts schieben (Position „CH 2").
Soll das Mischsignal beider Kanäle zu hören
sein, den Regler in die Mitte stellen.
5.3 Mixing the signals of channels 1 and 2

If channels 1 and 2 are to be heard at the same
volume, slide the crossfader (15) to mid-position.
If one channel is to be heard at a lower volume
than the other, slide the crossfader further to the left
or to the right correspondingly, or slide the cross-
fader to mid-position and adjust the desired volume
ratio with the channel faders (13).
5.4 Monitoring the signals via headphones
The pre-fader listening facility (PFL) allows to moni-
tor channels 1 and 2 via stereo headphones at the
jack PHONES (22), even if the respective channel is
faded out. Thus, it is possible e. g. to select the de-
sired title on a CD or to match the right moment for
fading in an audio source.
Alternatively, it is also possible to monitor the cur-
rently playing music programme ahead of the mas-
ter control (4) via the headphones.
Caution! Do not adjust the headphones to a very
high volume. Permanent high volumes
may damage your hearing! The human
ear will get accustomed to high volumes
which do not seem to be that high after
some time. Therefore, do not further in-
crease a high volume after getting used
to it.
5.4.1 Pre-fader listening of the input channels
via headphones
1) For pre-fader listening of the input channels in
stereo, set the ASSIGN switch (18) to the left
position "CH 1 – CH 2" and adjust the crossfader
(19) for the PFL facility as follows:
If channel 1 is to be monitored, slide the con-
trol to the left stop (position "CH 1").
If channel 2 is to be monitored, slide the con-
trol to the right stop (position "CH 2").
If the mixed signal of the two channels is to be
heard, set the control to mid-position.

Zum Vorhören der Eingangskanäle in Mono –
getrennt auf dem linken und rechten Kanal des
Kopfhörers – den Schalter ASSIGN (18) in die
rechte Position „CH 1/CH 2 SPLIT" stellen und
den Überblendregler für die PFL-Funktion (19)
wie folgt einstellen:
Soll Kanal 1 auf dem linken Kopfhörerkanal
abgehört werden, den Regler ganz nach links
schieben (Position „CH 1").
Soll Kanal 2 auf dem rechten Kopfhörerkanal
abgehört werden, den Regler ganz nach rechts
schieben (Position „CH 2").
Sollen beide Kanäle gleichzeitig – Kanal 1
links, Kanal 2 rechts – zu hören sein, den Reg-
ler in die Mitte stellen.
2) Mit dem Pegelregler (20) die gewünschte Kopf-
hörerlautstärke einstellen.
3) Um den Pre Fader-Pegel auf dem VU-Meter (5)
abzulesen, die Umschalttaste (10) für das VU-
Meter drücken (grüne LED links neben der Taste
leuchtet). Die linke LED-Reihe zeigt dann den
Pre-Fader-Pegel von Kanal 1 an und die rechte
LED-Reihe den von Kanal 2.
5.4.2 Abhören des Musikprogramms über
Kopfhörer
Zum Abhören des laufenden Musikprogramms vor
dem Masterregler (4) den Schalter ASSIGN (18) in
die mittlere Position „PROG." stellen und mit dem
Pegelregler (20) die gewünschte Lautstärke für den
Kopfhörer einstellen.
5.5 Abhören des Musikprogramms über eine
Monitoranlage
Es besteht die Möglichkeit, das laufende Musikpro-
gramm vor dem Masterregler (4) über eine an den
Buchsen BOOTH (26) angeschlossene Monitor-
anlage abzuhören. Den Pegel für die Monitoranlage
mit dem Regler BOOTH (6) einstellen.

If channel 1 is to be monitored on the left head-
phone channel, slide the control to the left stop
(position "CH 1").
If channel 2 is to be monitored on the right
headphone channel, slide the control to the
right stop (position "CH 2").
If the two channels are to be heard simul-
taneously – channel 1 left, channel 2 right – set
the control to mid-position.
2) Adjust the desired headphone volume with the
level control (20).
3) To read the pre-fader level on the VU meter (5),
press the selector switch (10) for the VU meter
(green LED on the left of the button lights up):
the left LED row then indicates the pre-fader
level of channel 1 and the right LED row that of
channel 2.
5.4.2 Monitoring the music programme via head-
phones
To monitor the currently playing music programme
ahead of the master control, set the ASSIGN switch
(18) to the mid-position "PROG." and adjust the
desired volume for the headphones with the level
control (20).
5.5 Monitoring the music programme via a
monitoring system
It is possible to monitor the currently playing music
programme ahead of the master control (4) via a
monitoring system connected to the jacks BOOTH
(26). Adjust the level for the monitoring system with
the control BOOTH (6).
6 Position der Eingangswahlschalter
ändern
Sind für die Eingangswahlschalter (11) andere Stel-
lungen als die vom Hersteller vorgegebenen er-
wünscht, können die Schalter einfach ummontiert
werden.
1) Vor dem Ummontieren der Schalter den Netzste-
cker des Netzgerätes aus der Steckdose ziehen.
2) Die Kappen der Kanalfader (13) und des Cross-
faders (15) abziehen.
3) Die vier Schrauben, mit denen die silberfarbene,
untere Hälfte der Frontplatte am Gehäuse befes-
tigt ist, entfernen und diese vorsichtig abnehmen.
4) Zum Ändern der Position des Eingangswahl-
schalters von Kanal 1 muss die Montagescheibe,
auf der er festgeschraubt ist, gedreht werden:
Die zwei Schrauben, mit denen die Scheibe am
Gehäuse befestigt ist, abschrauben.
5) Die Scheibe mit dem darauf montierten Schalter
in die gewünschte Position drehen und über zwei
Montagelöcher wieder festschrauben.
6) Die gleichen Schritte für den Eingangswahlschal-
ter für Kanal 2 durchführen.
7) Die untere Hälfte der Frontplatte wieder fest-
schrauben und die Faderkappen wieder auf-
stecken.
Hinweis:
Damit durch die Schalterstellung klar hervorgeht,
welcher der beiden Eingänge des Kanals gerade
angewählt ist, sollte bei der Positionierung der
Schalter der Aufdruck auf der Frontplatte berück-
sichtigt werden:
Den Schalter so positionieren, dass der Eingang
CD/PHONO angewählt ist, wenn der Schalter auf
„PHONO/CD" oder in Richtung des oberen Halb-
kreises gekippt wird, und der Eingang LINE ange-
wählt ist, wenn der Schalter auf „LINE" oder in Rich-
tung des unteren Halbkreises gekippt wird (siehe
auch Abb. 6 rechts).
6 Changing the Position of the Input
Selector Switches
If other positions for the input selector switches (11)
are desired than those preset by the manufacturer,
simply remount the switches.
1) Prior to remounting the switches, disconnect the
power supply unit from the mains socket.
2) Pull off the caps from the channels faders (13),
and the crossfader (15).
3) Remove the four screws by which the silver,
lower half of the front panel is fixed to the housing
and carefully remove that half.
4) To change the position of the input selector
switch of channel 1, it is necessary to turn the
mounting disc to which it is screwed: Remove the
two screws by which the disc is fixed to the
housing.
5) Turn the disc with the switch mounted on to the
desired position and screw it down via two
mounting holes.
6) Perform the same steps for the input selector
switch for channel 2.
7) Replace the lower half of the front panel, screw it
down, and put on the fader caps.
Note:
The imprint on the front panel should be taken into
account when positioning the switches to make it
obvious by the switch position which of the two
inputs of the channel is currently selected:
Position the switch in such a way that the input
CD/PHONO is selected if the switch is tilted to
"PHONO/CD" or in the direction of the upper semi-
circle, and the input LINE is selected if the switch is
tilted to "LINE" or in the direction of the lower semi-
circle (also see fig. 6 on the right).
