• Make sure that the ON/OFF switch (6), the throttle lock-out
switch (7) and the throttle trigger (9) function perfectly.
• This hedge trimmer is only allowed to be started after it is
completely assembled.
• Support the hedge trimmer when starting and hold it firmly.
Make sure that the cutting device can move freely.
10.1 Use (Fig. 1, 3, 4):
10.1.1 Starting when the engine is cold
Never allow the ranking rope (5) to whip back. This could
cause damage.
1.
Remove the knives protection (F) from the cutting device
(1).
2.
Place the hedge trimmer on a firm, level surface. The cut-
ting device (1) must not touch the ground.
3.
Press the fuel pump "Primer" (12) 6 times.
4.
Switch the On/Off switch (6) to "I".
5.
Turn the choke (4) to „cold start"
6.
Place the tip of your shoe into the rear handle (8)
7.
Hold the hedge trimmer firmly by the front handle (3) and
pull the cranking rope (5) slowly until you feel resistance.
8.
Now pull the cranking rope (5) quickly so that the engine
starts. If the engine does not start, repeat the process. As
long as the choke (4) is on „cold start"
will only run for a short time and then switch off.
9.
As soon as the engine is off, press the throttle lock-out
switch (7) and the throttle trigger (9) simultaneously. The
choke automatically jumps to the "warm start"
ing position."
10. Now pull the cranking rope (5) quickly again so that the
engine starts.
If the engine does not start after several attempts, read the
"15. Troubleshooting".
Caution
Always pull the cranking rope (5) straight out. Hold the handle
of the cranking rope (5) firmly when the cranking rope (5) re-
tracts. Do not allow the cranking rope (5) to whip back.
Note:
At very high outdoor temperatures it is possible that even a cold
engine has to be started without using the choke!
Note:
If the cutting device (1) moves when it is idling or the engine
goes out when you release the throttle, you need to adjust the
carburettor (see section "12.2 Adjusting the idle speed").
11. Lift the hedge trimmer.
12. Hold the front handle (3) firmly in your left hand.
13. Hold the rear handle (8) irmly in your right hand. The ball
of your hand now lies on the throttle lock-out switch (7)
and your index finger operates the throttle trigger (9).
14. After pulling the throttle trigger (9), once, the engine
should idle.
15. Run the engine to warm it up.

10.1.2 Starting with warm engine
1.
Switch the On/Off switch (6) to „I".
2.
The Choke must be set to „warm start"

Place the tip of your shoe into the rear handle (8).
4.
Hold the hedge trimmer by the front handle (3) and pull
the cranking rope (5) slowly until you feel resistance.
5.
Now pull the cranking rope (5) quickly. The appliance
should start after 1–2 pulls. If the appliance still hasn't
started after 6 pulls, repeat the process as described in
"10.1.1 Starting when the engine is cold".
10.2 Stopping the engine
10.2.1 Emergency stop sequence
If you need to stop the appliance immediately, switch the On/
Off switch (6) to „0".
10.2.2 Normal sequence
Release the throttle control (9). The engine idles. Then switch
the On/Off switch (6) to „0".
10.3 Operation of the hedge trimmer:
1.
Hold the hedge trimmer on its rear handle (8) and press
the throttle lock-out switch (7).
2.
Hold the front handle (3) with your other hand.
3.
Press the throttle trigger (9).
4.
The cutting device will start moving.
If you release the throttle trigger, the cutting device will stop
and the engine will idle.
Contact the manufacturer if the cutting device still continues to
run in idle mode.
Do not continue working with the hedge trimmer in such a con-
dition.
10.4 Adjusting the rear handle (8).
To make working with the hedge trimmer easier it is possible
to choose one of the 3 working positions of the rear handle.
• When adjusting the throttle trigger (9) can not be pressed.
1.
Use your left hand to hold the hedge trimmer on its front
handle (3).
2.
Slide the locking handle (10) to the rear and turn the rear
handle to the desired position.
3.
Release the locking handle (10). Make sure that the lock-
ing handle engages again and that the handle is secured.
10.5 Cutting blade (1) blockages
If the cutting blade (1) becomes blocked during operation,
switch off the hedge trimmer with the on/off switch (6) and
remove the spark plug connector (16).
Then remove the material that causing the blockage and check
the cutting blade (1) for possible damage.
11. Transport
To transport the device stop the engine and wait until the cutting
device does not longer move. Attach the knives protection (F).
