1. Check filter parts: filter cartridge, filter head with wall
mount and hose with two gaskets.
2. Shut off power.
3. Shut off water supply externally.
4. Attention: Pay attention to the direction of the water flow
when mounting the hoses:
Please see filter head „IN" = water inlet „OUT" = water
outlet
5. Mount inlet hose with gaskets to your cold water supply
and the other side to the IN inlet at the filter head. Mount
the outlet hose to the OUT outlet of the filter head and to
your steamer.
6. Remove the protective cap (1). Make sure not to touch the
cartridge head. Insert the filter cartridge (4) vertically into
the filter head (2). The filter cartridge can only be inserted
when the locking handle is open.
7. Turn the locking handle (3) until you feel it engage. Place a
bucket under the grey hose and push the button (5) at the
filter head to remove air from the cartridge (flush 2l).
8. The P 1000 filter cartridge can be operated vertically or
horizontally.
9. Optional: Attach the wall mount in place using two match-
ing screws and two wall plugs if necessary, depending on
the type of wall. Engage the filter head in the wall mount.
Please use the fixation holes.
10. Turn on water supply and switch on power.
11. Check complete system for any leaks. If any leaks are
found, repeat necessary steps.
12. When everything is in order, the steam oven is ready for
use with the BRITA filter. If any problems occur, contact
your Gaggenau service team.
Attention:
1. Protect the P 1000 water filter cartridge from direct sun-
light and mechanical damage. Do not assemble near
sources of heat and open flames. A stop valve must be
installed before the filter system intake hose. If the water
pressure is greater than 8.6 bar, a pressure reducer must
be installed in front of the filter system. Do not use aggres-
sive cleaning fluid.
2. The P 1000 filter cartridge is only suitable for domestic
use. The water filtrate is classified in Category 2 according
to EN 1717.
3. Only water of drinking water quality may be used as intake
water for the BRITA water filter system. The BRITA water
filter system is only suitable for cold water use within the
supply water temperature stated in the technical data. No
microbiologically impaired water or water of unknown
quality may be used.
4. If you have a low pressure boiler, make sure you only
connect the P 1000 to the cold water supply with the angle
valve, and not to the low pressure boiler.

5. If there are official instructions to boil tap water, the filter
system must be decommissioned. When the requirement
to boil water comes to an end, the filter cartridge must be
replaced and the connections cleaned.
6. The filter system must not be opened or dismantled during
operation. The filter cartridge must not be opened. The
filter system is designed for a service life of 5 years
counted from the date of installation. After five years the
filter head needs to be exchanged.

subsequent damage, arising from the incorrect use of the

The capacity depends on the local carbonate hardness and the flow rate.
Attention:
Filter cartridges should be replaced regularly to ensure the best performance of your Gaggenau Combination Steam Oven.
Replacement cartridges are available from your Gaggenau dealer, please order part no. GF121110 (one replacement filter car-
tridge).

For reasons of hygiene and regardless of the actual amount of water filtered the filter cartridge needs to be changed after 12
months at the latest.
Replacing the filter cartridge
Need to change filter cartridge is shown on the display of the machine.
It is important to readjust the setting of the filter capacity as well as water hardness before using the cartridge (see user manual
for steamer oven).
After storage and transport below 0°C, the product must be stored in the open original packaging
for at least 24 hours at the stated ambient temperatures (technical data) for operation.
The filter cartridge can be pivoted by 90° in the wall mount for easy removal. When the locking handle is open, the water supply to
the cartridge is interrupted and by-passing with direct water flow from the water inlet to the outlet is possible.
Replacing the P 1000:
1. Open the locking handle (3).
2. Place a suitable container under the flush hose to catch the rinse water. Activate the flush valve (5) and release pressure from
the system.
3. Remove the exhausted filter cartridge (4) from the filter head (2) – please be aware, the cartridge is firmly embedded so you
can give it a firm pull without worrying about breaking it.
4. Insert the new filter cartridge (see drawing above).
5. Close the locking handle (3).
6. Adjust the water cartridge exchanger (see user manual steam oven).
