3.SITUATION, INSTALLATION AND ASSEMBLY

3.1 SITUATION

There must be no corrosive or inflammable liquids nearby while the
chlorinator is being installed.
The unit must be installed in a dry location. In any event, there must
be a drain in the floor to protect against flooding. If the unit is installed in a
damp location, a ventilation system must be fitted to avoid condensation
forming. If the unit is installed in a confined space, the lack of air cooling
may necessitate a forced ventilation system to ensure that the unit does
not exceed 40ºC (104ºF).
Do not store the chemicals used with the swimming pool near the unit.

3.2 INSTALLATION

The unit must be installed and connected by qualified personnel
only.
There must be no corrosive or inflammable liquids nearby while the
chlorinator is being installed.
The unit is shipped with a wall-mounting plate for attachment with two
screws. We recommend DIN7981 ø5.5 screws with a minimum length of
20mm and threaded for a Fischer type plastic plug or similar.
The cells must be fitted downstream from the filter, the heater (whether
conventional, solar, or otherwise) and the valves. Sufficient space must be
allowed for the cell to be dismantled for cleaning. See the diagram below
and the installation diagram (page 10).
The control rectifier must be installed near the filtering system. The
ideal location is a wall giving protection against the rain, splashing, and
accidental spills.
Ensure that the rectifier cable is connected to the cell correctly.
Install the control rectifier above the cell, but not more than 1 metre
higher (the cable connecting the rectifier and the cell should not be
extended unless its cross-section is increased to avoid a voltage drop). It
can also be fitted on the floor in the vertical position.
