Secure the outer loops

With the help of the pieces of paraglider line, draw the yellow loops through the
eyelets.
Next, thread the rods of the deployment handle through the loops.
Any part of the rod which extends beyond the loop should be secured in the trans-
parent sleeve. Once everything is fitted, you can gently and carefully remove the
two pieces of glider line.

On the ALTUS, the deployment handle position can be varied up to 90 degrees.
Select the best position for you.
Deployment check

After fitting the parachute, it is essential to perform a deployment check. Hang the
harness by its carabiners, sit in it and pull the deployment handle. In the flying posi-
tion, deployment should be easy and conform to the manufacturer's specification.
The required force must not exceed seven (7) daN.
At this point you should also check that the speed bar and/or stirrup do not impede
the parachute deployment.

• Before every flight, check the parachute container is closed correctly. Check that
the yellow rods are in the transparent sleeves.
• Know the location of your deployment handle. In calm conditions, practise putting
your hand on the deployment handle (obviously without pulling it!) and mentally
rehearse a deployment.
