Changing the Tool
Before any work on the machine itself, pull
the mains plug.
Wear protective gloves.
The saw blades used must correspond to
the characteristic data in these operating
instructions.
Removing
Press the spindle locking button 1.
The spindle locking button 1 may be actu-
ated only when the saw blade is at a stand-
still.
Using the Allen key 17 unscrew the clamping
bolt 18.
Remove clamping flange 19.
Pivot back the swinging protective guard 13 and
hold firmly.
Remove the saw blade.
Mounting
Clean the saw blade and all the clamping parts to
be assembled.
Relace the saw blade.
Assemble the clamping bolt 18 with the washer
and assemble the clamping flange 19.
Tighten using the Allen key 17.
Take care that the mounting positions of the
mounting flange 20 and clamping flange 19
are correct.
When mounting, take care that the cutting
direction of the teeth (direction of the arrow
on the saw blade) and the direction of rota-
tion arrow on the protective guard agree.
Dust Extraction
The dust that is produced while
working is detrimental to health.
Use dust extraction and wear a
dust mask.
The dust extraction prevents
large collections of dust, keeps
the breathing air free of dust and
makes disposal easier.
Wear protective glasses, hearing
protection and a dust protection
mask.
External Vacuuming
Insert the vacuum hose (35 mm dia. hose sys-
tem) firmly into the saw dust ejector 16.
The machine can be connected directly to the
socket of a Bosch all-purpose vacuum cleaner
equipped with remote starting, for example. When
the machine is switched on, the vacuum cleaner
starts automatically.
The vacuum cleaner must be suitable for the ma-
terial to be worked. When vacuuming of dry dusts
that are especially detrimental to health or carci-
nogenic, use a special vacuum cleaner. Bosch
has available suitable vacuum cleaners for all ma-
terials to be worked.
For long periods of working with wood or for com-
mercial use on materials that produce dust that is
detrimental to health, the machine is to be con-
nected to a suitable external dust extraction device.
Internal Vacuuming
For small jobs, work with the dust bag (optional
extra). Insert the dust bag connection piece into
the dust ejector 16. Empty the dust bag regularly
to maintain optimum dust removal.
Operating Instructions
Advancing that is too fast reduces signifi-
cantly the performance capability of the ma-
chine and reduces the service life of the
saw blade.
Sawing performance and cut quality depend es-
sentially on the condition and the tooth form of the
saw blade. Therefore, use only sharp saw blades
that are suited for the material to be worked.
Wood
The correct selection of the saw blade depends
on the type and quality of the wood and whether
lengthways of crossways cutting is required.
Beech and oak dusts are especially detrimental to
health and therefore may be worked only with
dust vacuuming.
Plastic (GKS 66 CE)
When sawing plastic, especially PVC, long,
spiral shaped shavings are produced that
can be electrostatically charged.
As a result, the dust ejector 16 can become
clogged
and
jam
the
guard 13. It is best to use dust vacuuming.
Apply the switched on machine against the work
piece and carefully start sawing. Saw in a brisk
manner without interruptions which prevents the
saw teeth from sticking so quickly.
