Inserting Field Bus Cards

The insertion of different Field Bus Cards into the SMC (Part No. 72700A1 and 72700B1) takes place see
Section 3.5. The following card positions must absolutely be complied with:

• Always insert the covers for installation slots 1 and 2 with the correct orientations as shown in
Fig. 20 to ensure that the devices operate correctly.
• It is not possible to use each two Field Bus Cards 99plus or POF-POF.
• Before inserting the Field Bus Card, determine the type of power supply and configure the PL3
jumper accordingly see section 2.4..
• Only insert or change the field bus cards when the SMC is de-energised and the bus
connections are disconnected.
• The Field Bus Card will not function when used in the wrong slot.
