The display flashes:
The message disappears when the swivel arm is set in
the correct position.
• A signal tone sounds when the selected water quanti-
ty has been discharged.
Caution: there is still hot liquid in the filter! Wait until
the filter is completely empty of liquid before removing.
Otherwise there is a danger of scalding!
• Should you want to operate the storage urn (15) with-
out the filter (11) on it, place the lid (10) on the storage
urn to close.
4. Filtering with the timer
The hot water unit is equipped with a timer. With the aid of
this timer, the machine can be set to switch itself on auto-
matically at the programed time and to start the selected fil-
tering program, having prepared the filter with filter paper
and coffee or tea in advance. This facility enables the pre-
paration of a specified quantity of coffee / tea at a specified
time without the use of personnel.
4.1 Preparing the machine
Prepare the machine as described in section 3.1 „Starting
operation" on page 7.
• Open water tap. Switch on electrical supply.
• Switch on machine with button (1) ON/OFF.
• Connect storage urn and switch on heater.
• Place filter with filter paper and ground coffee on stor-
age urn.
• Put lid on and position swivel arm.
• Select desired quantity in litres using buttons
(2) and (4)
• Switch off machine with button (1) ON/OFF.

Display message:
The display (3) shows the selected starting time and
quantity in litres, e.g.
The automatic start program is now activated. As soon
as the selected time is reached, the machine switches
itself on and begins to heat up. The filtering process
then starts automatically.
• To change the starting time, see section 8. „Setting the
timer" on page 9.

• If the storage urn or swivel arm are not positioned cor-
rectly, this is indicated by the display. Correct the posi-
tion.
Caution: there is a danger of scalding caused by the
automatic start of the filtering process. Three short sig-
nal tones warn of the starting.
4.2 Switching off the timer
If the switched off machine is prepared for automatic ope-
ration as described in section 4.1, it can be switched on
again and used straight away should it be necessary e.g. to
prepare an unexpected quantity of coffee/tea.
• Press button (5)
The timer mode is now switched off.

pressing button (6) START/STOP.
• Clean machine after use and prepare it for brewing with
the timer (see 4.1 „Preparing the machine", page 8).
5. Dispensing
5.1 Dispensing coffee/tea
• The beverage can be dispensed from the storage urn
(15) using the fast-action tap (17).
5.2 Dispensing hot water
• Small amounts of hot water can be dispensed using
the fast-action tap (22) - also during the course of a fil-
tering program.
• If too much hot water is discharged, the water tempe-
rature falls and the display flashes:
Temp.
20 Ltr.
Do not dispense any more hot water now. Wait until
this message disappears.
Caution: the filtration period will be prolonged, if this
interruption occurs during the filtering process.
