Electrical installation
Wiring of the PROFIBUS
ƒ Wire the PROFIBUS nodes to each other.
Only use cables which correspond to the listed specifications (^ 40).
ƒ Activate the bus terminating resistor in the bus connector at the first and last
physical node.
– PROFIBUS cables with an integrated bus terminating resistor can be freely
purchased from various cable manufacturers.
– The bus terminator is supplied by the node. The external supply of the
communication module feeds the bus terminator independently of the standard
device supply (^ 43).
)
Note!
If you want to disconnect individual bus stations, ensure that the bus
ƒ
terminators at the first and last physical bus station remain active.
The bus terminator is no longer active if ...
ƒ
– the connector has been pulled out e.g. in the event of service;
– the voltage supply of the communication module has been switched
off.
